Abstract

The new mustard cultivar Dyuna was developed by a method of multiple individual selection of elite plants from an interspecific hybrid combination of a brown mustard cultivar Rosinka and a spring rapeseed BN-2254 using self-pollination. The main features of the cultivar are brown color of seed coat and high content of essential oil – about 0.76%. The new cultivar is characterized with high potential yield, which exceeds the standard variety by 0.22 t/ha. Cultivation of the cultivar Dyuna allows obtaining raw material with increased contents of antioxidants and phytoncides to produce wide diversity of condiments, most particularly popular and spiciest Dijon mustard that requires for dark mustard seeds with high content of essential oil.
