Abstract

The results of the authors' research on the development of the stability of loess soils are presented. The internal and external factors that directly affect the stability of the oscillating slope are given. As an internal factor, the strength and deformation parameters of the soil in the body of the slope are considered, depending on the type of soil, its granulometric and mineralogical compositions, the state of density-humidity, etc. The violations of the stability of loess soils and their transition to a state of liquefaction under strong seismic influences have been studied. The research was carried out on the basis of the physico-mechanical theory of the dynamic violation of the structure of cohesive soils. The results of experiments on the study of changes in the resistance to soil shear in conditions of intense vibration are presented. Formulas are given for determining the values of dynamic pressure and soil connectivity during prolonged exposure to dynamic load.
