Abstract

With the prolonged COVID-19 outbreak, the global interest in the ecological environment has increased. The major cause of ecosystem destruction comes from population growth and natural destruction, resulting in deepening of CO2 emissions and an overall survival crisis. Therefore, the restoration and preservation of the global environment deserves a major concern for the world church. This study looked at the Lausanne Covenant documents and its practical movements in relation to caring the global ecological environment. In particular, Lausanne and the world church leaders had a decisive influence on adopting the international program of the 2015 UN Paris Convention. However, the researcher pointed out the major denominations in Korea are still almost indifferent to this issue and called for putting them into action.
