Abstract

Structural restructuring of the economy is one of the fundamental priorities of the state. At present, innovative technologies are being actively introduced in Russia, new products and services are being developed and created, and labor productivity in general is increasing. At the same time, the main focus is on increasing the competitiveness and efficiency of production, strengthening its innovative component. To increase the efficiency and competitiveness of the country’s economy, it is necessary to increase labor productivity, modernize production, reduce costs, and improve the quality of products and services. That is why during the crisis, the most in demand are specialists who are able to work on new technologies, who will be able to offer the market new goods, services and technologies. Therefore, to ensure the sustainable development of the economy, it is necessary to expand the boundaries of production activities, change the ratio of elements in the system, change the forms of interaction of elements, change the internal structure of the system. Sustainable economic development is an approach to development that takes into account economic, social and environmental aspects, while striving to ensure the long-term sustainability of economic growth. It is based on the principle of the “triple bottom” – economic, social and environmental. This means that development should not only be economically beneficial, but also not lead to the violation of social and environmental rights and interests. To achieve sustainable economic development, it is necessary to stimulate economic growth, taking into account environmental and social aspects, including reducing the carbon footprint and ensuring social protection of the population. By developing the economy for the needs of future generations, conserve natural resources, promote a fair and equitable distribution of income that contributes to improved social well-being, increase investment in innovation and the development of new technologies that can help reduce the negative impact on the environment and improve economic performance. Therefore, it is necessary to promote the strengthening of international cooperation in the field of sustainable development, including cooperation on climate change and poverty reduction. In general, sustainable economic development is a long-term strategy that promotes economic growth, improved social well-being and conservation of natural resources. Sustainable development requires improving the methodology for analyzing structural changes in the regional economy in order to achieve the priority goals of its development.
