Abstract
The article describes approaches to freedom of choice and their diversity, as well as the role of freedom itself in the society and its characteristics. Choice in different forms is present throughout a person’s life. Whether choice becomes free depends on many factors: society, personal preferences, random circumstances. The possibility of freedom of choice is a measure of the realization of people’s rights and freedoms. Particular attention is paid to the specificity of free choice in the modern society associated with the situation of social polarization and total human responsibility. The level of human self-consciousness is important in this process, it is necessary to make the only right decision in the situation of free choice.
