Abstract
The article considers the features of translation activity in Tuvan literature in the period of its formation. In this regard, the Tuvan translation of the poem by Alexander Pushkin “A monument I’ve raised not built with hands” is analyzed. The author substantiates the thesis that the translation activity of the 1930-40s in Tuva was very active, focused primarily on children and was directly connected with the political and ideological literature of that time. Translated literature contributed to the formation of the Tuvan literary language.
