Abstract

The article is devoted to the structural and derivational characteristics of the toponyms of the Vladimir region. The author considers the toponyms formed by the suffix and prefix-suffix way of derivation. It is concluded that the identification of derivational affixes and their semantics in the structure of the toponym allows one to discover and specify the semantics of the name of the geographical object as a whole, as well as to reveal the evaluative connotation contained in the nomination, which represents the linguistic worldview.
