Abstract

The scientific originality is determined by the fact that there has been little research into the works of Zoya Nenlyumkina and that there is a need for reception of her poetry in live sociocultural and aesthetic contexts of the Russian Eskimos’ traditional culture, literary traditions and traditional genres. It is relevant to study Z. Nenlyumkina’s poetry by turning to the problem of the reception of a national text and its influence on a foreign reader. The paper aims to identify the “horizon of expectations” considering a foreign reader’s cultural-aesthetic, ethnic and mental concepts of the Eskimo Z. Nenlyumkina’s poetry. As a result, the study has revealed the peculiarities of the influence of a foreign literary tradition, the Eskimos’ oral poetic heritage - songs and spells which determined the genre characteristics of Z. Nenlyumkina’s civilian and philosophical lyrics.
