Abstract

The problem of the meaning of human life is investigated. The fundamental status of this prob-lem in the spectrum of philosophical knowledge is determined. In the concept of “the meaning of human life” there are two semantic bases integrated in it – pragmatic (regulatory), setting practical guidelines for programming life and theoretical (philosophical), justifying the goal and choice of life path, in accordance to the accepted worldview system and ideology. The analysis of the choice of the meaning of human life from the standpoint of religious and secular worldview is given. It is shown that in ideological discussions there is clearly a difference in thinking, ways of argumentation and proof of people with secular and religious world outlook. From the standpoint of philosophical analysis, the meaning of human life is the realization of the a priori mindset in the knowledge of one's being and oneself in it. It is concluded that a secular person does not receive the prescribed meaning of his life, he forms it by observing, getting acquainted with the ideas of the meaning of other people, corrects and forms the personal meaning of life.
