Abstract

The article offers methodological approaches to the construction of aggregated indices characterizing labor potential and assessing its impact on the indicators of socio-economic development of Russian regions. A composite index of labor potential has been built. According to its values, a brief analysis of the differentiation of regions was performed. Groups of leading and lagging regions are identified. The influence of indicators of labor potential on the standard of living of the population of regions is estimated using methods of causal analysis of a set of interrelated variables. On this basis, some econometric models are constructed that allow for a conditional forecast. The research tool is the methods of component and regression analysis. This kind of information may be of interest in the development of comprehensive programs for the socio-economic development of regions.
