Abstract

The article shows that the variations in the chemical composition of kaolinite recorded during the analytical determination of individual oxides may be due to different reasons Among them, the following should be noted: isomorphic substitutions, crystal structure features and adsorption of amorphous oxides and hydroxides of silicon, aluminum, iron, manganese, titanium on individual clay crystallites. Additional uncertainty in the analysis results is introduced by the methods of preparation of individual samples. The characteristic of the chemical composition of individual minerals of the kaolinite group from deposits developed on the territory of Russia is given.
