Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the linguistic personality as an object of linguistic research. The author examines the interpretation of this term in the works of domestic and foreign scientists, analyzes various variants of its understanding in the works of their followers. It is noted that there is ambiguity in approaches to the definition, structure, and content of the concept of linguistic personality, since this term is studied at the intersection of various branches of science. The linguistic personality is considered from the perspective of linguodidactics, linguoculturology, cognitive science, historical discourse, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics and other anthropocentric areas.
