Abstract

Purpose. To evaluate the effectiveness of radiowave method for the treatment of benign neoplasms of the eyelids. Methods. The study involved 87 patients with various pathologies (operated in 2 ways): chalazions, xanthelasma, papillomas, non -pigmented nevis, atheromas, retention cysts of the eyelids. The diagnoses were confirmed by clinical and laboratory research methods (cytological and histological examination). In both groups of patients clinical effect of the treatment, healing time of the wound surface and the cosmetic results of classical surgical and radio wave treatment (“Surgitron”) were evaluated. Results.Radiosurgical method, in contrast to the classic surgical method, showed low traumatism, high cosmetic results in 100 % of cases, healing occurred by primary intention and no recurrence of the pathology was observed in any case. Conclusion.The use of radio wave method had demonstrated high efficiency, safety and good cosmetic effect in the treatment of benign neoplasms of the eyelids.
