Abstract
The article examines and analyzes the modern theory and practice of training an officer-leader in the leading armies of the world and the universities of Ukraine. The conceptual bases of military leadership by NATO standards are revealed, innovative approaches to forming the leadership position of officers in the US and Canadian armies are traced, the best practices of military leadership development in the national military high school are summarized.
