Abstract
The article provides a retrospective analysis of the formation and development of preventive measures in the form of bail and prohibition of certain actions in the system of Russian legislation. Based on the analysis of historical literature, legislative normative legal acts, as well as archival materials, the author considers milestones in the development of the preventive measures under consideration, which made it possible to identify 3 chronological stages of bail, as well as to identify the features of the emergence and formation of the prohibition of certain actions in Russian criminal proceedings. The article describes the features of the election of preventive measures in various historical periods.
