Abstract

This article examines the relevance of studying, preserving and classifying industrial objects in the context of industrial heritage as a part of a cultural and historical thing. A number of classifications of industrial heritage by functional and typical features are considered, and the author also proposes a classification based on the principle of preservation and historical and cultural value. The author considers the world's experience in using industrial heritage sites as museums.
