Abstract

The author of the article notes that mediation is the currently relevant judicial conciliation procedure. The paper identifies gaps in the legal regulation of this institution, brings forward proposals for its further improvement. It is noted that a mediator acts as a sort of a filter, verifies the settlement reached with his help as to its legality, absence of any violation of rights of other persons and possibility of approval by court.
