Abstract
The article is devoted to studying one of the basic concepts of modern semantics - isotopy. This concept allows deep semantic interpretation of a text taking into account all the intratextual relations of semantic components. The author examines the “isotopy” concept, compares the related terms, suggests an isotopy typology according to certain criteria, provides a semantic analysis of some fiction texts from the viewpoint of interaction of the texts’ isotopies with a view to identify the mentioned concept’s role in the process of interpretation.
