Abstract

Taking measures to develop exports is one of the most important issues facing any country. Growing exports and expanding into new markets allows countries to tap into almost unlimited foreign market demand to complement limited domestic market demand, which is especially important for countries with small economies. Armenia, having joined the EAEU, received certain opportunities to promote exports to the EAEU member countries. The article analyzes the foreign trade of the Republic of Armenia in order to identify the main groups of goods for which the Republic of Armenia has a level of international specialization. To identify opportunities for expanding RA exports within the EAEU, it is also necessary to calculate indicators of international specialization of exports of other EAEU member countries, especially for those groups of goods for which RA has a level of international specialization, which makes it possible to see which of the EAEU member countries are competitors of the Republic of Armenia in the export of these groups of goods. The article also calculates the relative weights of the Republic of Armenia and other EAEU countries (except for the Republic of Armenia) in the import structure of the above commodity groups of the EAEU member states, as a result of which the possibilities for expanding exports of the Republic of Armenia in the context of the EAEU can be determined.
