Abstract
A refined model of the main lightning stage is proposed, which takes into account simultaneous variation of the lightning channel corona sheath’s specific (per unit length) capacitance and the specific (per unit length) resistance of the channel plasma filament along the height that adequately reflects the experimentally determined amplitude variation pattern, front length and phase velocity of current wave over the lightning channel height.
