Abstract

The article examines genre and stylistic peculiarities of the TV talk show “Larry King Now”. The results of analysing stable and variable genre features of the American talk show are presented. The basic variable feature of this talk show is absence of the audience in the studio. The authors argue that entertaining presentation of informational and analytical content, peculiarities of linguistic arrangement impart individuality to Larry King’s show. It is shown that Larry King’s long-term experience as a talk show host helps to win the trust of the guests, popularity among the TV-viewers and allows distributing the program at TV channels of different countries and online.
