Abstract
The article concerns the materials of the Bayan bulag-I Turkic ritual complex, excavated by the participants of the Buyant Russian-Mongolian archaeological expedition in 2010 in the territory of the Mongolian Altai. The authors present a detailed description of the fixed structures along with the objectsfound. It is established that the studied complex, which had been destroyed by the time of the work, was a single subrectangular enclosure with a statue established on the east side. Obviously, the construction of a rounded form was associated with the design of the sculpture. One of the constructive characteristics of the complex is a pit in the center of the enclosure, in which the remains of a wooden pillar are ffound. During the excavations of the enclosure, a fragment of the wall of a ceramic vessel without ornament and a ceramic knife were discovered. The analysis of the obtained materials, first of all the realities on the stone statue, allowed attributing the Bayan bulag-I complex to the Katanda stage of the Turkic culture (second half of the 7th – first half of the 8th centuries AD).
