Abstract

Priority has been given to job aptitude so far in job selection. However, recently, there have been arguments that job value should be prioritized over job aptitude. The purpose of this study is to establish Korean job value and to suggest their usefulness. Therefore, Holland's job value and Myungli job value were compared and analyzed. As a result of the study, the criteria for Holland's job value and Myeongli's job value were different. However, a correlation between job values could be found. The results of this study are as follows. Holland's the Realistic Type value was highly correlated with the Myeongli's Bigun-gyeok(比肩格) and Gubjae-gyeok(劫財格). Holland's the Investigative Type value was highly correlated with the Myeongri's Siksin-gyeok(⾷神格) and Pyeonin-gyeok(偏印格). Holland's the Artistic type value was highly correlated with the Myeongri's Siksin-gyeok(⾷神格) and Sangkwan-gyeok(傷官格). Holland's the Social type value was highly correlated with the Myeongri's Siksin-gyeok(⾷神格), Jeongin-gyeok(正印格) and Pyeonin-gyeok(偏印格). Holland's the Enterprising Type value was highly correlated with the Myeongri's Pyeonjae-gyeok(編財格) and Pyeongwan-gyeok(編官格). Holland's the Convention of Type value was highly correlated with the Myeongri's Jeongjae-gyeok(正財格), Jeonggwan-gyeok (正官格) and Jeongin-gyeok(正印格). As a result of the study, Myeongli Job value could be established and utilized as Korean Job value that complemented the limitations of the self-report test used in Holland Job values. It is hoped that the results of this study will serve as the cornerstone of follow-up research and will be used as useful information for counseling on job value of individuals living in an uncertain future amid rapidly changing.
