Abstract

Introduction. The present article is concerned with the peculiarities of experiencing stress by students during the COVID-19 pandemic in the process of online learning. The meaning of such concepts as stress, motivation, coping strategies, online learning, their relationship and features of representation in the experiences of students during the COVID-19 pandemic are presented. The analysis of stress influence recent studies, in particular, concerning COVID-19 pandemic stress influence on a mental condition of the human is also provided.The purpose of the article was to find out the peculiarities of experiencing stress during the COVID-19 pandemic in the process of online learning by higher education institutions students.Methods. The method of Basic Ph (Mooli Lahad), Study of professional motivation method of K. Zamfir in the modification of A.O. Rean were applied in this psychological study, and an online questionnaire on the subjective experience of stress during containment measures on the COVID-19 pandemic in the process of online learning was created. Mathematical and statistical data processing (SPSS 22 computer package of statistical analysis) was used to interpret the obtained findings: descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and comparative analysis according to Student's t-test.Originality. It was established that most of our respondents did not like online learning (74%) and would not like to study in a similar mode in the future (81%). The obtained results may testify that during the quarantine period the experience of using and learning in the remote system has not yet been integrated into the lives of young people. And the use of Internet resources shall be associated only with the personality sphere and the entertainment sphere. The advantages and disadvantages of online learning are also provided.A comparative analysis of diagnostic indicators for people with different intensity of stress experience is presented, in particular, coping strategies that are most often used by students during the COVID-19 pandemic stress experience in the process of online learning are specified. So that, it was found that those students who are less likely to experience a pandemic as stress use coping strategies such as knowledge, faith and physical activity. As a result of the correlation analysis conducted, it was also found that respondents, who are affected by stress, more internally motivated, focus on self-development, the less time they spend on physical activity during the quarantine. Conclusion. The direction for future study is the study of other factors that affect the peculiarities of stress experience by students during the COVID-19 pandemic.
