Abstract

This article presents the results of modeling the passport of the linguocultural character type of «chevalier médiéval» (medieval knight). The analysis of its textual conceptualization is based on the XI-XIII century literary discourse and was performed using corpus linguistics methods. The modeling was applied in accordance with the following scheme including a number of parameters: gender peculiarities, typical physical portrait, social status, activity fields and verbal behavior characteristics. The passport reflects some individual features of a model knight personality and general value dominants in medieval person sphere in a feudal society. The portrait combines mostly positive features such as military honor, glory, courage, physical and moral prevalence with some negative ones including deceit and boasting. They are manifested by the semantics of the verbs used as well as in the parentheses that characterize the subject’s manner of speaking.
