Abstract
Recently, discussions about happiness in Korea have been centered around the concept of ‘sohwakhaeng’ or small but certain happiness. The key of sohwakhaeng is that small but certain happiness has different perspectives compared to previous studies in which special consumption affects happiness. The trend of sohwakhaeng has also greatly influenced tourism and travel behavior, which is one of the major happiness pursuit activities of modern people. In this situation, this study aimed to conduct an exploratory study on the subject of sohwakhaeng as a recent trend of leisure and tourism consumption. As a result of the study, contrary to the expectation that sohwakhaeng travel will have a deep relationship with individual travel, it was found many people still feel small but certain happiness when traveling with family, friends, or lovers rather than having a travel alone. In addition, it has been found that there is no favorite travel time for sohwakhaeng travelers, and the purpose of the travel is mainly leisure, entertainment and vacation.
