Abstract

The paper presents the results of a study of the possibilities of the optimization task of allocation of 3D models of products in the working space of layered building by additive manufacturing by the Monte Carlo method. The proposed method of allocation of 3D models of products in the workspace using the Monte Carlo method allows reducing the time of technological preparation and increasing the productivity of the process and the efficiency of the installation. The efficiency can be achieved by reducing the relative share of unused workspace, which is relevant for SLA, SLM, SLS, and other methods of additive technologies. A step-by-step definition of free space for the location of the next product is proposed, starting from the installation platform. Increasing the efficiency of the proposed algorithm was provided by forming a set number of placement options with the subsequent selection of the best one according to the optimization criterion. Rational values of parameters of the method of arrangement are determined on the example of group products with complex surface geometry.The effectiveness of the proposed method was evaluated based on a comparative analysis of the number of layers and the filling efficiency of the workspace (relative volume of its use) for manufacturing 3D models of complex industrial products. The study was performed using a specially developed subsystem for the system «Technological preparation of materialization of complex products with additive technologies».
