Abstract

China’s land property rights system has undergone great changes since 1978, when the private economy began to be allowed to own land. From the empirical point of view, combining with the changes of China’s rural land property right system and land economy since 1978, this paper puts forward theoretical hypotheses: the changes of land property right system will promote the development of local economy; Economic and social transformation plays a positive intermediary role in the process of land property rights system change promoting local economic development. The data of China’s upgrade panel from 1980 to 2017 are collected and the hypothesis is demonstrated according to the output results of the model. The final conclusion of this paper is that the change of land property rights system plays a promoting role in the process of economic development in various parts of China.
