Abstract
the paper focuses on the development of the social-realistic tradition in the culture of the early 1960s. Special attention is paid to the first full-length feature Gennady Shpalikov’s screenplay «Berth», which is an example of the development and the change of social-realistic «tropes» in the screenwriting of «Ottepel / the Thaw»: «a positive hero», «big family» and «war». The author concludes that these fundamental «tropes» define all Shpalikov’s work, the screenwriting and the poetry.
