Abstract

The study aims to examine the processes of preparing and holding the first Soviet fair in 1922 in Irbit (Yekaterinburg province), as well as to assess its effectiveness with regard to goals set by the authorities. Scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that the 1922 Irbit Fair is considered as a nationwide landmark historic event representing the beginning of transition to a new format of dialogue with the society by the Bolshevik government.
