Abstract

This article deals with analytical and historical study regarding the development of the literature of hadith and its sciences during the 12th and 13th centuries of Hijrat within the territory of Iraq. It was considered an important city of the Muslim state at that time, due to cultural, intellectual and political development. Unfortunately, in the later centuries, Iraq witnessed a clear scientific stagnation, caused by political conflicts, frequent turmoil, and an increase in epidemics and disasters. The science of Hadith was one of the major disciplines that were affected by that tragic reality. However, despite the tragic conditions of Iraq in that era, numerous scholars have continued their educational, academic contributions, and scientific composition. Likewise, experts in the field of Hadith and its sciences have contributed in this regard as well. Therefore, I have discussed the efforts of these scholars in this research paper.
