Abstract

This article highlights the issues of epidemiology, etiology, classification, etiology, pathogenesis and clinical manifestations of retinovasculitis, which is an inflammatory lesion of the walls of retinal vessels with secondary involvement of surrounding tissues in the process. The most complete clinical classification was proposed by E.I. Ustinova. In most cases, retinovasculitis develops against the background of a systemic disease of various etiologies. If the etiology remains unclear, such retinovasculitis is called idiopathic. The pathogenesis of retinovasculitis development has not yet been fully established. Clinical manifestations have both common features and the peculiarities depending on the etiology. As a rule, the onset is asymptomatic or almost imperceptible. Ophthalmoscopy most often reveals vascular lesions in the form of a violation of their caliber and course, perivascular infiltrates, «cotton» exudates.
