Abstract

In the field of school education, how to blend online and offline learning effectively have a lot of attentions while what teachers are expected to do in blended learning situation gains little attentions. Along this line, this study focuses on what teachers should do when they teach students in blended learning. To do so, this study reviewed and categorized the teachers’ roles described in studies related to online learning, distance learning, and blended learning and then in on and offline learning situations. The list of teachers’ roles and behaviors was created and then polished . The survey was carried out to confirm the categories of teachers’ roles viva factor analysis. At the last stage, the final list of teachers’ roles and behaviors were compared by school level, experience, and region. Besides region, the results of comparison by components are statistically meaningful. This study contributes to clarify and guideline what a teachers should do in blended learning. The series of what teachers need to be prepared in diverse blended learning situations need to be explored as a follow-up study so that the research results support teachers to get ready their blended learning.
