Abstract

A 12-year-old boy with tonsil and adenoid hypertrophy underwent routine tonsillectomy under general anesthesia. Transnasal microdebrider adenoidectomy along with outfracture turbinoplasty was performed uneventfully. But the patient complained right epiphora after operation. Epiphora was sustained after nasal packing removal. Dacryocystogram demonstrated right side nasolacrimal duct collapse at inferior turbinate attachment level. Epiphora improved after inferior turbinate medialization and silicon intubation without dacryocystorhinostomy. (J Clinical Otolaryngol 2007;18:254–256)
