Abstract

There are two runways at Gimpo airport; one runway is used exclusively for takeoff and the other is used exclusively for landing. Further, 32 direction runways are divided according to time and the take-off and landing runways are changed. As a result of the study, the number of uses of each runway was different, and aircraft noise also significantly differ. This is because runways change depending on the wind direction, and many flights take-off and land at certain times. Runway operation is directly related to aircraft noise levels, and current operational methods do not cause equal aircraft noise damage to the surrounding residents. The government should introduce runway operations that consider the equal generation of aircraft noise.
