Abstract

The purpose of this study is to present basic data on how to improve varying positions an athletic performance of ice hockey players. In this study, In order to improve the performance of ice hockey players by position. For Center, 6 types of methods were suggested: System Execution, Face-off, Breakout – Low Support for Defense & Wingers, 2nd Quick, First Pass, Creating or Getting Scoring Chances. For Wing, 8 types of methods were suggested: System Execution, Wall Play & Breakout, Shooting Lane & Shooting Blocking, Moving Feet, Forecheck, Getting In Side & Getting to the Net, Screen, Tip-in, & Rebound, Off Boards to Dot. For Defense, 8 types of methods were suggested: System Excution, After Defensive Zone Dump, Shoulder Check, Stick Detail, Physical Presence, Gap Control, Skating – Joining the Rush, Offensive Zone Play. Among them, System Execution, which is commonly applied to the Center and Wing as well as Defense, is a team sport, ice hockey, where all players must play together, but more positive results can appear. In ice hockey, individualized ice training and physical training for each position should be used to maximize athletic performance improvement.
