Abstract

The article considers the role of the gender factor when constructing a modern politician’s speech portrait. The study is based on analysing the speeches of the USA Presidential Candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. The paper suggests that it would be relevant not only to identify gender differences in using linguistic means but to consider the conditions and contextual parameters of their usage. Accurate distribution of gender accents greatly contributes to solving the basic pragmatic tasks of political communication.
