Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find research trends and observe future research directions on school health teachers. For this purpose, the electronic databases reviewed included: RISS, KISS, e-article, KoreaMed, KMBASE, and NDSL databases in Korea. The search terms was ‘school health teacher’ and publication period was set from January 1, 2002 to March 17, 2022. 86 journal papers were met the final conditions and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Research examining the actual conditions and phenomena was the most common with 79 studies, 4 studies(4.7%) verified the effectiveness of the program and qualitative studies accounted for 9.3%. As a result of analyzing the research contents focusing on the main variables dealt with in the study, the most common studies dealing with psychological characteristics(50%). Most of the studies, excluding the psychological characteristics of health teachers, were nursing-based studies dealing with health, and only 2.4% of the studies were pedagogy-based studies. Through this result, it was found that experimental study, tool development research reflecting health teacher specificity, and pedagogy-based research should be conducted more actively.
