Abstract
The article focuses on the concepts of "competence", and "universal competencies" associated with the success of the individual, and interprets the content of these concepts. The acquisition of modern universal competencies allows students to be mobile and employed, continue their education at later stages of higher education and receive additional education. In this regard, the importance of the formation of universal competencies of students in the process of teaching the Kyrgyz language is emphasized. Also, communicative tasks and professional texts are given as examples of ways to organize the educational activities of students in the process of teaching the Kyrgyz language in order to form the universal competence of students in higher educational institutions.
