Abstract
Global economic inequality has tended to decrease over the past three decades. However, in most countries, especially in advanced economies, intra-country inequality has increased. High levels of inequality are detrimental not only to macroeconomic stability but also to sustainable long-term growth. At the same time, new factors, such as the growing role of information and communication technologies or the COVID-19 pandemic, have a significant impact on all levels of economic inequality. To address the problem of inequality, it is important not only to develop policy directions, but also to monitor the dynamics of ongoing changes to develop relevant measures.
