Abstract

From the viewpoint of systematic and variational approach the article outlines the main provisions of the discourse and communication translation model and the procedural understanding of translation / interpreting strategy. We provide a framework for translation modeling at large and put forward the typology of explanatory translation models. Further we describe the structure of the discourse and communication translation model, the relations between its categories and parameters, and the distributed nature of the model components. We then explain how a translation / interpreting strategy is developed basing on the model and what factors influence the translation and interpreting strategies.
