Abstract
In 2022, a design of a vegetal wall for the Upper Park of the Nikitsky Botanical Gardens (NBG) was developed, and a promising assortment of plants was selected. The design of the vegetal wall is prepared taking into account all the factors that can affect it during operation in the conditions of the NBG. The pocket type of planting was taken as a basis, and the pockets are not external, but internal. Such placement of plants allows to save the root system from rapid drying and overheating, as well as subsidence of the substrate in the lower tiers of the wall. It is recommended to select plants that are resistant to periodic drying and overheating of the soil. In this project, it is planned to use 10 species and cultivars of ornamental herbaceous plants.
