Abstract

The article is devoted to author's speech issue in T. Tolstaya's small prose herein represented with “With folks” (“S narodom”) and “There may be light” (“Mozhet byt' svet”), based on Tolstaya's blogs in social networks. The author of the article discovers traditions of M. Zoshchenko prose, particularly, elements of such a paradoxical narrative form as writer’s tale. The article demonstrates the use of common place syntaxes, diffusion of academic and casual lexis, violation of word usage taboo, the narrator minimized the distance, separating it from a reader, creates an atmosphere of intimate conversation, carnival freedom, where status of writers changes: now they are not the “lord of thoughts” and mentor, but a reader's plenipotentiary interlocutor.
