Abstract

The subject of the article is the assessment of factor relationships between the level of registered unemployment and indicators of economic development. The purpose of the article was to identify the degree of influence of the unemployment level in the country, the North Caucasus Federal District and the Chechen Republic on macroeconomic indicators: gross domestic product and gross regional product. To do this, based on official statistical information, a paired regression model was built, the relationship between changes in GDP (GRP) and changes in the unemployment rate in the regions under consideration was assessed, and it was established that the analyzed period is characterized by low values of the relationship between the two variables, confirmed by the location of the points on the correlation field and the value coefficient of determination. The results of paired regression analysis are supplemented by the results of analysis using the method of sequential elimination of factors, which made it possible to identify the most effective factor that influenced the situation in the labor market and the degree of tension in it. For this purpose, a model has been selected that describes the relationship between tensions in the labor market, changes in the number of unemployed citizens registered with the employment service, and changes in the need for workers declared by employers. The article concludes that in conditions of low dependence of GDP growth (GRP) on changes in the unemployment rate in all studied regions, there is a noticeable dependence of changes in the unemployment rate on economic growth, characterized in the model of factor dependencies, a decrease in the number of unemployed citizens and the growing demand of employers for workers.
