Abstract

Based on the quasi-classical description of electron dynamics in topological media, the gyrotropic prop-erties of which are due to the non-zero Berry curvature, the phenomenological model is proposed. Model allows us to consider some nonlinear optical processes – the generation of the third harmonic and the rotation of the wave polarization vector depending on the intensity. Third-order nonlinear sus-ceptibilities, which determine the interaction of waves taking into account the rotation of the wave po-larization vector, are determined. Gyrotropicity manifests itself in the dependence of the harmonic con-version efficiency on the circular polarization of radiation, which can be used to measure the parameters of this media.
