Abstract

The article is a review of the linguistic papers by researchers of the Vologda scientific school, written in the period of the XX - beginning of the XXI century and focusing on the study of Belozerye as a special territory in Vologda region. Currently, geographical and historical Belozerye occupies the space of Kirillovsky and Belozersky districts in Vologda region. According to archaeological sources, the main trade routes passed exactly through this territory, here was the settlement of the Slavs and Finno-Ugric tribes, which determined the development of different dialect phenomena. The assimilation of the population brought about changes in language processes. Linguists and language historians consistently analyzed material collected in these territories. The purpose of this paper is to focus on the main research areas, which were developed by Vologda linguists during this period.
