Abstract

 This study is titled “Clitic in Kurdish language”. The scope of the research only includes the Dialect of Central Kurdish (Sorani). Therefore, the examples presented here are relevant to this dialect and they are analysed according to Synchronic-Analytic method. Although Clitic is an element in the study morphology, it functions on phrase and sentence level. It is correlated to other morphological phenomena such as affixes, inflectional morphemes and attached pronouns within the boundary of their morpho-syntactic functions. Therefore, a distinction should be made between these phenomena and Clitic. Accordingly, the study is divided into eight sections: Section One is an introduction to the topic. Section Two demonstrates the concept and definition of Clitic. Section Three deals with the arrival of the concept of Clitic in Linguistics. In Section Four, Clitic in the Kurdish language. Section Five Clitic are classified. Section Six explains the Functions of Clitic. In Section Seven examines the Speciality (characteristics) of Clitic. Moreover, there is a contrast between Clitic and Affixes in Section eight demonstrated through relevant examples.   &nbsp
