Abstract

Transhumanism and posthumanism of their potential hypothetical bearers (“transhumans”, “posthumans”), require philosophical reflection, since they concern the evolution of humans, his adaptation to the inherently inhuman digital technosphere, and as a result – not only the biological survival of the species Homo sapiens, which is only possible if there is a sense of existence (realized through spiritual evolution), but the preservation of the “human” in it, the preservation of its ontological foundations. The author believes that the main problem associated with the challenge of trans- and posthumanism is the need to comprehend the ultimate foundations of human existence. The object of the study is a person taken together in the ultimate foundations of his being, his development, in the ultimate dimension of his evolutionary development. The subject of the study is the ability of a person in his socio-cultural intentions to overcome or not to overcome the crisis; in the first case, the further development of a person follows, in the second – his development becomes post-human. The methodological basis of the study was the principles of historical, comparative and interdisciplinary approaches. The novelty of the findings lies in the ontological-theological interpretation of the supposed ontological status of a hypothetical post-human.
