Abstract

The understanding of the definition of "legal culture" is multifaceted due to its initial provisions related to the content of the concept of culture. This article analyzes the main approaches to understanding legal culture depending on the types of legal understanding. Of greatest interest is the study of the phenomenon of legal culture within the framework of legal positivism, legal sociological understanding, sociological positivism, soci-ocultural approach, anthropological approach, information-semiotic approach, axiological analysis and from the standpoint of the functional and content aspect. The most important conclusions in terms of significance within the framework of this study are the following: 1) the need for periodic use of the achievements available in legal cultural studies is proved, while legal culture is understood as the result and means of forming a subject of law as a person; 2) the interaction of law and culture in the dichotomous phenomenon of legal culture leads to the formation of a legal concept of a new level; 3) the systematization of legal culture is based on its understanding as an integral system, the definition of subsystems that make it possible to formulate theoretical foundations for creating a general model that is closest to the process of functioning and formation of a person and society in legal reality.
