Abstract

The article considers the possibilities of using and ways of implementing various ICT tools and means for organizing distance learning English for specific purposes of students of the Information Technology Faculty. We give examples from practical experience in organizing the educational process by using the Moodle online learning platform during the final control and exam testing, tips to avoid cheating in answering control questions; in organizing debates and discussions using the Forum; in creating a glossary, filling up and expanding it by student collaboration; in conducting online classes via Google Meet with the possibility of recording and reviewing them by students; in discussing PowerPoint presentations during online meetings; as well as in grouping students and messaging through the Telegram messenger for educational purposes and for solving organizational issues. Thanks to that, it's possible to implement a comprehensive approach for organising a distance learning process for studying a foreign language in order to build professional communicative competence and improve the quality of students' knowledge. The following research prospects on this scientific and methodological problem are determined: the need to compare online training platforms, programs for organizing video calls, instant messaging services and the conduction of experiments to determine the efficiency of various means of information and communication technologies.
